Why not try Reflexology & benefit from
|
History of Reflexology and how it worksReflexology was first discovered in 2,500 BC when evidence was found within Egyptian tombs and continues to be practiced today as a Holistic Therapy. Holistic comes from the Greek word "holos" meaning "whole" as reflexology treats the whole person and not just the symptoms of disease.
Reflexology works by the application of pressure to different zones on the feet or hands which correspond to different parts of the body. By manipulating appropriate areas it can release chi energy flow if it is blocked or where there is congestion, stimulating the body to heal itself. Regular treatments may help reduce the symptoms of illness, hayfever, lower back pain, Joint Pain,Hormonal imbalances, Fertility issues, Asthma and stress related conditions such as high blood pressure. During illness reflexology can unblock energy flows within the body, this in turn balances our energy levels and heals the underlying cause of illness simultaneously healing the physical, mental and emotional turmoil that the body has suffered. Although reflexology cannot cure conditions it is an amazing complementary therapy that works hand in hand with conventional medicines and can be effective for the elderly, women, men, pregnant women and children. This particular therapy can be used preventatively or just for relaxation purposes to ensure a happier, healthier, relaxed state of mind, body and soul by creating total harmony within our bodies and surrounding environment. |
What to expect during a treatment Session
A reflexology treatment session can be up to 1 hour or just 1/2 an hour depending on the clients requirements. Prior to the first treatment session a consultation will be taken either over the phone or confirmed when I first arrive at the clients home. Please be aware that this could take an additional 15 minutes on top of the first treatment.
Clients will be reclined in a specialist chair where relaxation techniques will begin. Once the client is relaxed and comfortable a full treatment will be given. Reflexology is a very gentle therapy that works the whole body. During the treatment session some clients may experience different sensations as areas of the feet are worked and this is normal. Some clients prefer to close their eyes and completely relax, whilst some like to watch, from a professional opinion I do find that clients benefit more from their reflexology sessions when they close their eyes, as they do not have any distractions. |
As the session comes to an end there will be more relaxation incorporated and any areas on the feet that have been identified will be reinforced to release any blocked energy.
Finally I will discuss any areas that showed up during the session and offer post treatment advice. To make sure that I am providing the best professional service and post treatment advice to my clients I encourage clients to give me feedback and discuss any concerns they may have. |
